1. Vi Thanh Market

Distance: 50km

Location: Vị Thanh, Hậu Giang Province

Vi Thanh Market is also known as Chợ Chồm Hổm, or squatting market. The market is held in an open area, with rows of farmers selling their local produce displayed on the ground. It's fascinating to visit the market in person and walk around among the locals buying fresh produce early in the morning.

2. Sa Dec Flower Village

Distance: 52km

Location: Sa Đéc, Dong Thap Province

With over 1000 different species, the rows and rows of colorful flowers in Sa Dec Flower Village are worth seeing.

If you’re visiting around the Tet holiday, then Sa Dec is one of the most interesting places to see during this time. You will find gardeners tending to a sea of yellow ball-shaped chrysanthemums and locals dressed in traditional clothing having photoshoots.

3. Dinh Yen Mat Village

Distance: 58km

Location: Định Yên, Dong Thap Province

Interested in visiting a traditional village near Can Tho? Visit Dinh Yen mat village in Dong Thap province to discover the art of mat weaving. The mat village has been operating for more than 100 years, and it's fascinating to observe how the residents continue to thrive while preserving their craftsmanship.

4. Long Xuyen

Distance: 64km

Location: Long Xuyên, An Giang Province

Long Xuyen is the provincial capital of An Giang, located in the Mekong Delta. Despite being a lesser-known tourist destination than Can Tho, Long Xuyen offers a variety of activities. Which include the Long Xuyen floating market, the wholesale market, Tiger Island, and the An Giang Museum for those who are interested in history.

5. Ben Tre

Distance: 109km

Location: Bến Tre, Bến Tre Province

From the endless rows of palm trees to popular coconut specialties, such as candies and wines, Ben Tre is the coconut paradise of the Mekong Delta.

What’s also worth visiting in Ben Tre are the narrow waterways lined with palm trees, which are both beautiful and interesting. And it is no surprise that it has become one of the most popular places to visit in the Mekong Delta, with plenty of day tours leaving from Ho Chi Minh City

6. Tra Su Cajuput Forest

Distance: 125km

Location: Định Yên, Dong Thap Province

Get on a boat and explore the mangroves of Tra Su Cajuput forest, which are home to 140 flower species and 70 bird species.

During the flooding season, green duckweed covers the mangroves, creating a unique landscape.While the cajuput trees towering above provide a picturesque backdrop as you navigate through the winding waterways.

Because it is a bit of a drive from Can Tho and there are many attractions worth visiting in the area, such as Sam Mountain, we recommend spending the night in Chau Doc City.
