Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2026

As part of Lonely Planet’s 25 Best Places to Visit in 2026, we had the opportunity to write about Quy Nhon, one of Vietnam’s most exciting coastal destinations. This project combined both our writing and photography to show why the city is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Quy Nhon is a place we’ve returned to repeatedly over the years. With its golden beaches, Cham towers, fishing harbors, and an ever-improving food scene, it embodies everything we love about coastal Vietnam without the overwhelm of major tourist hubs. Our contribution highlights the city’s charm, emerging infrastructure, and its blend of local life and modern development.

Through our photography and writing, we wanted readers to understand Quy Nhon not as a “next big thing,” but as a destination defined by authenticity and a sense of calm that’s increasingly rare in Vietnam. Being able to showcase one of our favorite places in Vietnam on a global list of top destinations was one of our most meaningful projects to date.
